Do you have other questions?

Great! We'd love to hear from you! Here are questions we get asked a lot, so read these over and see if this helps.

What age is this course for?

4th Grade through High School

How do I know my student is ready for your course?

Students do best in this course when they have their multiplication tables memorized and can do basic arithmetic operations such as add, subtract, multiply and divide with whole numbers.

What if my child falls behind?

You are never behind in a self-paced course. Students work through the program at their own pace, on their own schedule. You set the pace to work through the content (how many days per week math is completed), and decide how much content to complete each session.

We recommend one lesson per day, four days every week. Use the fifth day for review or in-depth lab projects.

How do I know which level my child is at?

Every week, students work through their Student Workbooks, and there is a review test at the end of each that you may use as an assessment or to "test out" of the workbook and move onto the next one. If you really have no idea where to start, click the START HERE link at the top of this page and use the assessment.

How long is my enrollment for?

Enrollment is for one year (12 months) from the day you enroll.

How much of this do I need to do with my child?
What if I don't know much math myself?

I recommend working with your child to get them started, so they understand how this program works (use the START HERE page). The program is set up so kids can work with our instructors on their own.

Are you aligned with Common Core?

Yes and no. Yes, we cover every single math concept and math skill required by common core. No, we do not go in the same order and sequence as common core. The Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 courses are full year, high school level courses with standardized tests as a final exam.

That said, THIS program is an application-based math course, and it exceeds common core standards. We spend a lot of time with exploring solutions to science and engineering problems, working through real data sets and math modeling labs, as this course is taught by scientists and engineers!
